Jared Lyell is a Brisbane street performance artist. I discovered 

Jared in the Queen Street Mall and immediately noticed his connection with something deeper than the superficial, commercial aspects of a normal artist.

This is not to say that Jared is beyond superficial, normal and commercial behaviour but that he is not limited to superficial, trite, normal and commercial conduct. He is an artist that has "moments of sheer genius". 

 

It is common for people when they look at the world to reduce the things that they see to it's lowest possible expression. This is not only a denial and repression of everything great within a person but by being reductionist in your thinking, you are also diminishing your own inherent genius.

With Jared I could see he had moments when he would break free from his normal constraints as an artist and connect with his soul.

It is my hope that you ... dear viewer ... not only appreciate this connection with Jared's work but also appreciate the inherent genius within yourself ...
